Shop Commander Academy

Shop Commander Academy is a free training library for the auto repair industry — service advisor training, shop owner courses, technician career paths, and management skills. 27 courses, 290+ lessons, all free, and it's open to everyone. You don't need to run Shop Commander in your shop to use it.

Getting started

Browse the full catalog at shopcommander.com/training — filter courses by role to find your track. The first lesson of every course is free to read with no account at all, so you can size up a course before committing.

To unlock the rest, hit Sign up free. All it takes is your name, email, and a password — that account gets you full access to every course, forever.

Courses and lessons

Each course page shows what's inside: modules, the full lesson list, and a summary. Hit Start Lesson 1 to begin. Lessons are written for the shop floor — read one on a phone between cars.

Many lessons end with a quiz. Answer the questions, pass the quiz, and the lesson counts as complete; lessons without a quiz just need a Mark lesson complete when you're done. Previous and Next links at the bottom keep you moving, and completed lessons get a checkmark in the course outline so you always know where you are.

Your dashboard

The dashboard at /training/dashboard is your home base — every course you've started with a progress bar, a Resume link that drops you at your next lesson, plus your certificates and badges. Come back a week later and pick up exactly where you left off. Progress is saved automatically as you complete lessons.

Account settings lets you update your name and email or change your password.

Certificates

Finish every lesson in a course and you earn a certificate — automatically, no extra steps. Each one carries your name, the course title, the issue date, and a unique certificate code.

Certificates are built to be shared:

• Print / Save as PDF — one click, formatted for landscape printing. It looks good on a break-room wall.
• Publicly verifiable — every certificate has its own URL at /training/certificates/<code>, plus a QR code printed right on it. Anyone — an employer, a customer, a hiring manager — can scan or visit the link and confirm it's real.

You also earn a badge for each completed course, collected on your dashboard.

Training the whole team

Because accounts are free and individual, every advisor and tech can work through their own track and build their own certificate wall. It's structured training for the whole shop at exactly zero cost.
