Canned Jobs

Pre-built service templates with labor and parts, ready to drop onto any repair order in one click.

A canned job is a service you've built once — labor hours, labor rate, parts, and warranty terms — so you never build it again. Oil changes, brake jobs, alignments: define them here, then drop them onto any repair order in one click, priced and complete.

The Canned Jobs library
Your service catalog, searchable and organized by category

Building the library

Click + New Canned Job and fill in:

  • Name and category — "Front Brake Pad Replacement" under "Brakes". Categories become filter pills at the top of the page.
  • Labor hours and rate — pick one of your shop's named labor rates, use the default, or set a custom rate for this job. Jobs linked to a named rate update automatically when you change that rate in Settings.
  • Warranty defaults — months and kilometers, applied to the service line every time the job is used.
  • Linked inspection template — attach a DVI template so the right inspection comes along with the job.
  • Parts — search your inventory and attach parts with quantities, or type in a description for parts you don't stock. Pricing comes along with them.

Working the list

The library is built for speed:

  • Search covers job names, parts, and part numbers — type a part number and find every job that uses it.
  • Category pills filter with one tap.
  • Star a job to mark it as a favorite.
  • Expand a row to see the parts inside without opening anything.
  • Edit labor inline — click the labor hours or rate right in the table, type the new number, done. No modal required.

Each row also shows a usage count — how many repair orders the job has been applied to — so you know which templates earn their keep. Use the row actions to duplicate a job as a starting point for a variation, edit it, or delete it.

Why it matters

Estimates built from canned jobs are consistent. Every advisor quotes the same brake job at the same price with the same parts and the same warranty — whether it's their first week or their tenth year. And when a part price or labor rate changes, you change it once, not on fifty half-remembered quotes.
