Getting Started

Sign in, use the role-aware workspace, and find optional setup, readiness, tours, task guidance, and documentation.

ShopCommander runs in a browser and in the current iPhone and Android apps. Every employee should use their own identity so assignments, decisions, time, corrections, and audit history stay attributable.

Sign in and choose the shop

Sign in at app.shopcommander.com. If your identity belongs to more than one shop, choose the shop you are working in. Your role and actual access can differ between shops.

Your first workspace follows your role

  • Owner, Administrator, and Manager normally start at Home when the shop has launched. A genuinely new shop may be offered the optional Setup Wizard first when the person can act on setup.
  • Service Advisor starts from front-desk/customer work on Home.
  • Technician and Apprentice normally start at My Work, with current assignments, Ready Next, waiting reasons, and review context.

Home is not a universal dashboard. It combines the person’s role with actual permissions, enabled features, readiness, and current work. A broad administrative role does not automatically receive Owner financial prominence.

See Role-Aware Home for the six standard role compositions.

Getting Started is always replayable

Open Getting Started from Help or the application navigation to resume optional shop setup, review the live readiness ledger, replay role orientation, start Show me around for a page tour, start Show me how for a real task, or open route-aware documentation.

Guidance can navigate, point, explain, and observe. It never sends a message, authorizes work, posts an invoice, records a payment, changes access, or creates tutorial business records for you.

Search and help

Use the top-bar search or Ctrl+K (⌘K on Mac) for current customers, vehicles, repair orders, inspections, appointments, and available actions. Help search accepts shop language such as RO, work order, DVI, assign tech, customer approval, productive time, and start work.
